Do You Know that You Need a Savior?

Do you know that you need a savior? Do you know that you are guilty of sin? I know that you may feel like you’re a pretty good person, and you probably are. But the bible says that we “ALL have sinned and come short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23). And though you may have only done some “small sins”, the bible says that if a person “keeps the whole law and yet offends in one point, he is guilty of all.” (James 2:10) So if you are honest with yourself, you have to admit that you are guilty of sin, and you need a savior.

So how do you get saved? The Bible says it simply like this. If you confess with your mouth "Jesus is Lord", and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved (Romans 10:9). Then you do what Jesus told the woman at the well, you “go and sin no more”. That’s called repentance. You turn from your sin and strive to live a life according to what God says in His word.

I know you probably believe in Heaven and want to go there when you die. And you may be thinking that you are good enough compared to other people. But Heaven is not a place where all ‘good people’ go. That sounds nice, but it’s simply not true. Heaven is a place prepared for those who have been saved..those who have received Jesus Christ as their Savior.

So if you realize that you are guilty of sin, and you want to be saved, then pray this simple prayer right where you are. Don't wait! You may not have another chance. Say this prayer right now, and really believe this in your heart as you pray.

“Jesus, I realize that I am a sinner. I say, think, and do bad things no matter how hard I try not to. Even if I compare myself to others who may seem a lot worse than me, I'm still a sinner. But I want to be a better person, I want to be saved, and I want a relationship with God through You. Lord, I'm sorry for all the bad things I have thought, said and done. Please forgive me. Please come into my heart, take control of my life, and change me from within. I promise to read the Bible, turn from my sins, and tell as many people as I can about you. Amen!”
