Where Are You?!?

Genesis 3: 8-9 "Then the man and his wife heard the sound of the LORD God as he was walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and they hid from the LORD God among the trees of the garden. But the LORD God called to the man, 'Where are you?' "

The Lord was not calling on Adam and Eve as if He could not find them. He is an all-knowing, all-powerful, and ever-present God. He knew exactly where they were. His question was asked that they would pose that question to themselves. The question addressed not so much as to where they were physically, but where they were spiritually.

And so too, that question should resound in our own hearts. God is asking you today, Where Are You? Where are you in your faith? Where are you in your family life? Where are you in your relationships with others? Where are you in the purpose He has for your life? Where are you?

I must say this question has really caused me to evaluate where I am in my life. I can see that I am where I'm supposed to be in some areas, and in others I am not. But at least the first step is figuring out where exactly I am. Some say that you don't know where you're going until you know where you have been. I say that you can't get to where you are going until you know where you are.

The next time you go to the mall, look at the map they have placed at strategic points. It shows you how to get to the stores, shops and attractions in the mall. For it to be of use, the first thing you must find is that big red star that says "You are here". If they did not have that marked, that map would be useless. In your Christian walk, you should want to move forward, to become more Christ-like, to move from point A to point B; but you first need to be aware of where exactly is point A.

Stop for a moment and ask yourself "Where Are You?!"

Try Jesus!
